    Software question

    Hi Guys, New to this forum and my interest is mainly in the area of miniature furniture but I thought that members using this forum might know the answer.

    Does anyone know if software is available to convert measurements to a smaller scale?

    Cheers, Simon Oz

    If you search for "scale converter software" in google there's a plethera of online tools to choose from.

    Wouldn't be surprised if there were some apps too but I didn't look fully.

    I personally just take the length of the original article... divide by the scale factor... this give you the length of the item.

    Ie. ... a wardrobe 6ft x 2ft x 18ins at 24th scale (approx sizes)

    72ins = 1829mm / 24 = 76mm

    24ins = 61mm /24 = 26mm

    18ins = 46mm / 24 = 19mm

      Thanks Colin. That's the way I do it at the moment, I just thought that there might/should be some software out there. Just lazy I guess although with software/program/app I think conversions might be more accurate.

        To be honest Simon I'd continue to do it as you do ... at least you'll know the sizes are correct eh

        What platform do you need the software to run on (pc / android??) Ill have a look around further if you like ... give me something to do

        You could post some pictures if you want, furniture may not be everyone's cup of tea but a few of us here make furniture items for our dioramas and a few tips wouldn't be refused to be honest.

          Would you believe that I'd searched and searched with Google but hadn't got the question phrased correctly. I put in your search string and, as you said, there are a few out there a couple for downloading and some for on-line use. I'll give them a try and see how I go. PC app for preference.

          Current piece is a Welsh dresser, photos might be posted - it depends how satisfied with it I am!
