MrsD, what a pleasure to see you posting here. A you say Nigel loved the place and Charlotte seems to enjoy her time with us so it's an honour to welcome another member of the family.

Dare we ask, Are you into modelling as well or simply taking part in the chat we have here? Nigel was certainly a great asset to what we do here and his patience , experience and expertise are very much missed.

Whatever you want to ask us about feel free and, as I say to all newcomers, enjoy your time here.

Thanks for your kind reply BB !

Im just nosing about really - I am building a 1/12th scale dolls house but without Nigels help its ground to a bit of a halt. Thats my only foray into modelling to be honest - I have always just been content to supply the coffee and nod enthusiastically as required ;-)

Dolls House, now that's a sore point here. I bought a kit for Annette for Christmas about 10 years ago and we started to make it together. Since then it has sat in the attic for about the last eight years and is currently behind about three model boat projects.

Annette mentions it on a regular basis!! The trouble is once I had got the model boat bug there was no going back so I can see it in the attic for another eight years. (Don't tell Annette though )

I was brought here by Google whilst searching for info on the Veron Tomtit.

Looks a nice imformative site, I shall have plenty to look at from what I can see.

                Regards.

Hello. I found this forum using a simple google search for Model Forums. I am getting started in modelling late in the game (Im 27) and needed somewhere to do some research. Seems like alot of good info on this site. Glad to be here!

..and glad to have you Burg. Another international member, welcome to Scale Models.

I hope that you find something usefull amongst our ever increasing archives and enjoy your time with us. Don't worry about age, I went through a period of well over ten years when I didn't touch a model but now I am back into it and enjoying it all the more. It is certainly one of those things that age plays no part in!!

Through a link in a thread about a Se5 restoration project on RCMF, from a post by Greyhead. Looks like this could be an interesting and useful forum for scale detail etc. However, I was just wondering why you must post before viewing images? I expect it's to do with trolls & spammers, but have never seen this done before.

Added to my ever growing list of info for scale detail!

You got it right, we have had a lot of trouble with spammers and the only way I could stop it is to have people make at least 1 post then they are moved in to a new usergroup which should allow them to view the full forum.

btw welcome to the forum good to have you here

Good tactic, I like it! I'm mainly into RC Aircraft, and am getting more into the scale side of things - I like a plane to look like a plane!

                            Thanks for the welcome!

Found the site while google-ing for a F-18 Hornet (building a C and a D version atm, from some old MiniHobby kits).
