    Ok I've bluffed enough!

Over my time here I have heard certain terms that I've never heard and it's doing my head in lol.

1, chipping? I've heard this term when referring to armoured vehicle's ie "I like the chipping you've done there"

2, OOB? This I've heard on different builds, now I'm thinking it's a company that produces kits but I'm unsure.

    Thanks

Hi Alan Chipping as it say's the effect of making the paint work look like its been bashed/knocked, chipped

OOB out of box meaning that nothing has been added or altered to the kit from the box

I realy hope thats what you are asking

Chipping is the effect where it looks like the paint has come off with wear and tear. I'll post a picture to show you.

I THINK the OOB is "out of the box" with no extras like etch, resin etc

In the top picture it is showing the underneath colour through excessive wear

      Hope this helps

I'll write it in the quickest, shortest most simple way I can,,,,,, bear with me!!!!

1st. Spray the model with the original colour or the base colour you want...

2nd. Spray with a gloss coat, only needs to be a quick, thin coat as its only to hold it in place.

3rd, then find liquid hair spray and spray a good layer all over the model ( I don't use can hair spray as its really crap and for some reason doesn't work as easy, (just believe me lol) then let it dry.

4th, spray your top colour over it until you have the desired look then let it dry for a while.

5th, then get an old paint brush and wet the area where you want to chip, the water soaks through the top layer of paint and loosens the hairspray which then lifts the top paint layer off in little bits as you scrub at it, if its not coming off easy then use more water, I tend to wet the whole model and leave in for 5 minutes as it saves the bristles in the brush then go over the whole thing.

Point to note, always wet the whole model as it kind of weathers it in away and turns a little darker... I'll y and post pics of my WMIK I did...

Any more questions then feel free to ask

          Lewis

This is the effect you can get, this was the first model I did with the hair spray (liquid)
