    Identifying a Lego figure

Hi folks. Cheeky I know and only loosely related to the modelling we usually do ....

Could anyone identify the Lego figure shown in this picture? The one on the left please - I only included the Ahsoka figure as a comparison since the unidentified figure is almost twice the size of the standard Lego minifigures.

My son has just said it's not Lego but he doesn't know who it is.

I think it's Biggs Darklighter, Lukes friend from episode IV, but I've never seen him in this uniform, and I think Johns son is right about it not being a Lego figure.

He doesn't look like a Lego figure.

Have you tried to google the image?

Thanks guys. I also first thought that it isn't a Lego figure but it's stamped with the Lego name and copywrite symbol.

Francesco - how do you 'google an image'?

Ian - I can see the resemblance. We both have a cheesy moustache and b****y useless hands!

It is Lego ... Probably a figure from the ''model team'' series that were of a larger scale.

Go to images.google.com, in the search box should appear a camera, click on it and upload the image you're looking for

Thanks Francesco but that wasn't the most successful search I've done. I did as you suggested and it took Google just 0.4 seconds to come up with zero images! I'll try the advanced search and see what that does.

I wish they had done! Life would have been so much quieter - and the reputation of the YMCA wouldn't have nose-dived into oblivion!

I was kinda disappointed though. I thought maybe I'd found an ultra-rare piece that Lego had only made a dozen copies of and I was going to make a fortune! Turns out this series is cheap as chips on ebay and I'd be lucky to find a buyer for just a single figure.

Oh well. I reckon I'll make the best part of £200 when I sell the contents of the box I only paid £6 for (plus another £10 -£15 to get the bits that are missing). That'll do nicely.

Seeing the value in Lego really makes me cross that I gave mine to my kid brother....who gave/threw it away as he grew up...Must of had a moving box full of it!

So Dave, you got the pilot, all you need to do now is build the fighter to fly in...
