    Which stage you prefer...?

Imagine you are on your man cave... The table is tidy and clean. On your left hand have a cement bottle, and the other a paint bottle....

Which stage you prefer at this moment...? Build or paint..? Or the both as equal..?

If you asked me this question six months ago, I have response build; but now prefer paint!! That not means I dislike build!

Maybe, the motive is, you can learn a lot, and it is the major part of the success on your kit!!!

    Cheers

Hi Polux, i tend to do both, some parts you cannot reach to paint when built, i tend to read the intructions first, then decide a plan of action & off i go.

I do like the painting best. Like you say it can make the model, but a poorly constructed kit no matter how well you paint it, will still be a bad kit so in fareness they both go together

I like the painting stage for a plastic kit,

at the end of the day, no matter how much you chop or change the kit.. Its still has to be built as the kit designer intended it to be, even if you add pe and resin, you still have to follow someone elses guidelines.

I like the building stage when I scratch build anything..as I feel in control and I can do what I want, not just follow someone else's instructions.

As long as there's a sense of achievement when it looks how you want it..... I think that's the main thing

It depends on what I'm building but I have found all kits need some areas painting first due to things getting in the way like tank tracks and cockpits

Hi polux i do enjoy the build but i enjoy the paint work more the paint is where the kit comes alive so to speak, i love the whole artistic approach to the paint work a kit can go from barnd new out of the factory look to broken down and delpapadated in the stroke of a brush, you can create aby number of effects on a kit all it requires is a fertile imagination.

I enjoy both aspects for different reasons.

I find building some kits quite challenging and take pleasure in overcoming the technical problems, hopefully without becoming frustrated.

Painting is a different challenge. I don't find most painting technically difficult so I enjoy the artistic aspect more.

You've gotta do both to finish the thing anyway!

              Cheers
