It is a static model A lot of it is metal and would, I think, be far to heavy to fly.

Mind you stuff a big enough engine in it and a lawn mower can fly....

To be honest ian after I posted I did have a quick look, it definitely doesn't look worth it ..even to me, an aircraft numpty

I was even more confused when it said it could be battery powered, after Alan mentioned being able to flyone.

I think the battery power is just for the prop to turn...

It's the same as all these building magazines, they all seem to round out just under £900, which is a complete rip off, especially when you see the finished thing, I also don't think it would be worth buying just to collect, I really don't think you'd ever get your money back, let alone make a profit...

So this is just a static one , the one I was doing did come with the engine and RC also it was only wood but you did have to pay an extra £20 for the RC and engine , this is an awful lot of money for a static kit that could actually look worse than a plastic one in the same scale

I got the flying one, the one Alan is talking about I think, about 15-20 years ago. I bought it to do with my son, but after the fuselage and tail was built he lost interest, so it ended up in the attic, and there it has remained. I've got all of it I think, but the bug to get it out again has never bit. SWMBO keeps saying I should put it on E bay or try to sell it on here but postage would be a killer, besides, I might make it one dayops:

                      Confusion solved ......

900 quid static model against something you can fly costing the same ...... Hmmmmm

                      Not rocket science is it?

If you study the photos, you'll see that you get a "Vb" with l/e cannon castings for a Vc, plus twin radiators of a IX.

Well i must admit did build the DeAgostini R/C Spitfire i had to make some mod's to it to get it to fly, put micro servos in the wings added rads to the wings & put a bigger engine in it, also put radio & hydrolic cyl in cockpit.

Was going to put retract undercaridge but used them in the mozzy.

Don't mind at all John, looks superb even if slightly off from a purist point of view, but, if you get fun from it then I suppose that is the real deal here, not how much it costs.

I've just had a look at some pictures too. It seems that you get a sort of "generic" Spitfire rather than an actual mark. Very odd!
