It's like the guy selling a Avro bomber on ebay, scrap it was worth 2-3k I think he ended up getting round the 12k mark, so it might sound cheap but it's not worth what he's asking, saying that if I had the space and the cash I would love it sat in my garden

A museum here in NZ (Ashburton) bought one last year and paid just over 5K for it.

i spent some time studying the harrier and the vulcan at hendon on sunday..... having a vulc in your garden would spoil the view, but hell what a car port, you could park a good 30 cars under cover of the vulcs delta wings !

They called Environmental Health because I had a bag of moss cleaned off the roof lying for 2 days (bin men refused to lift garden rubbish) and reported a neighbours car as abandoned because the tax disk ran out while he was on holiday. They also reported me for not cutting my grass !!!

*** Funny how different councils are touchy on certain things, remember the chap with the killer whale sticking out of the roof ! he did it deliberately because someone reported him for something, and said that it was his property so mind their own business,I use the front end of an Enstrom helicopter in my garden as a sort of shed, brought it at an auction for the grand sum of £7,so it is a relic with a use, would also make a great greenhouse but I refuse to put soil into it.

*** Just been in touch with the owner Squiffy,it is a mistake and should read £15,000,but you could get it for the original price if you were lucky.

The scrap value is nowhere near even £1500,a few museums paid a lot less than this even including my local one.

wow, really? i thought stuff like this was really sought after! When you say "you could get it for the orinigal price" what do u mean? im a bit lost, when i said 15k i ment 15,000???

I never realised u could pick this sort of stuff up so cheap. I was bidding on a harrier control coloum as i want to use a real one for my pc joystick, however the acution ended at £180!!!!!! I wonder if he doesnt sell it weather he would want to sell a few parts or am i just being silly now?

if you dont ask you dont get !- ask him squiffy you never know !

going back to the point raised earlier about local councils getting funny about stuff in your gardens and similar.....

we had a visit from a local parish councillor as we were building our extension, i thought it was just to see if we had followed the plans and were complying with building regulations, but he was actually round to view the new roof and the addition i had put up there.....

a 1:1 scale model of a sea gull, built in...........

                        yup you guessed it, LEGO.....

he did not seem to mind its still up there by the chimney !

it used to be on my workshop roof !

He does want £15,000,he missed the nought off the first time round, sorry to confuse you.

If you buy from a dealer it goes up a lot, those lucky enough to have mega bucks bought batches of them for scrap, realising their value they decided not to scrap them and are selling off to collectors. They will probably change hands several times.

I might still give them a ring as ive been after intrument and cockpit parts for quite some time now, and they can only say no i guess....
