TELFORD ON 9 NOVEMBER 2013
Here are some of my pics, just what I fancied. Most were taken from the candidates for prizes. The fourth last one was taken at the Japanese Zoukei-Mura Inc stand and shows a Heinkel He219A-OUhu, Super Wing Series. £125+. In my opinion it had the greatest amount of fine detail and was very impressive indeed. 1/32 scale. It has the very prominent Lichtenstein BC antenna developed in 1943 to let German night fighters detect and chase bombers (rather too cropped by me at the left). Have a look at that image (at least) at full size to see the detail. The 6th (ship) also has good detail.
It was good to see many kids 12 and under, including a few girls. The youngest active modeller was 5 ! I was also impressed by the large number of foreign-speaking people, about 1/3 or more, many from, I guess, Eastern Europe. A good day out. The car park was full at 10 past 9 and people had to go around and about to multi story parks. I found on, the "Pink Cherry" or something, £3 for 6 hours! I was told that there wasn't a bed available anywhere in Telford.
5 or so of us met for a chat (and a sit-down), as arranged.
