Just read this on the BBC site, a very sad day indeed and a great loss.
One of very few people who i wished I could have met.
I think he touched so many people's lives that his beliefs, objectives and passion for his country will be honoured by many many people for centuries to come.
I grew up in South Africa, through the end of apartheid and the start of the 'rainbow nation'. A time of fears that were never realised and hopes that were, in very large part due to this one remarkable man.
Such a debt of gratitude to Mr Mandela, truly a hero whose name will be remembered for many centuries.
Iam only glad that when he died he did it as a free man this was a man who stood up for morality, honesty and the right to have freedom of speech.... he will indeed be missed. If more people were like him there would be less trouble and strife in the world.
