Not much different from land. Weather (wind) and surface conditions are variable factors that add a bit of spice. On a calmish day very satisfying.

I havent seen it yet either, but funny that only a couple of hours ago I was trying to decide on whether I should buy it or the new "Flight of the Pheonix" DVD. Ended up buying neither ! I`ve spent most of this evening trying to find marvelous "behind-the-scenes" site which showed the model team flying their massive models, including the 25ft span Hercules(Spruce Goose). Cant find it, sorry. Tiger, I got the video OK, just slow to come through, very nice.

                        Barry,

The Aviator is quite "Disney" but I did like some of the flying sequences. The effects reminded me of Pearl Harbour in standard. I enjoyed it though and, yes, I would think it is worth the cost of the DVD.

Anybody else having trouble with the links? The streamload one should work...it costs enuf!! BTW if anyone needs large vids hosting, pm me- i hardly use the bandwidth on the streamload thing so no probs me hosting for other members.

Wonwing mate, i have no idea whats up. Are you sure someone or something is not effecting your abillity to d/l from the web? Or have i screwed up somewhere?

Opinions more than welcome. If its not me i will upload the landing sequence and boy is it scarey!!!!!!

mm not having much luck here either but I do have a superb book on this aircraft which pretty much covers Howard Hughes's life and the development of this superb plane...and the big question remains....did she fly on her own or was it on purpose ?? Either way I don't care, you don't build a plane that big not to fly, the fact that she did and so nicely too has to be commended and has to be a real credit to Howard Hughes...which it always will be...purely because The Spruce Goose flew !!!! and at that time she was the biggest plane in the world !!

                            Regards.......Mark

She flies better than the original. Is that due to the power/weight ratio?
