I need a laugh right now.

Some idiot in the flat upstairs from ours wasn't doing proper cold-weather management, and his pipes broke. We're underwater... (well, it's under control now, but gave us an interesting first part of the day). Luckily I caught it in time and avoided damage to my projects (and other effects), but I am not very happy about it, nonetheless..

Well, it seems that the trouble started on the 8th floor. The water leak was so bad that it drained down through the building, soaking suites on 7 (me), 6, 5, and 4. The plumbers here will have new reason to hate mondays...(and suddenly renter's insurance is looking more attractive).

Yeah, ours was mostly cosmetic damage. We had to do a load of towels as laundry. The cleaners just left here as well, so I'll be heading out to work soon.

No, all is going ok, no cost to me, just laundry. It's the guy above me who has the explaining to do...
