    Hello from the new comer KECEM

    Hello to everyone. Well, it's been a long time since I stopped modelling. Realising what a mistake it was, I am determined to make a good start and don't let it go again.

    I saw a lot of of good discussion and knowledge sharing amongt the fellow modellers of this site and decided to join in.

    In the past, I have had build about 100 of 1/72 and 1/48 aircraft and some warships. I also dealt with radio-controoled airctaft. Most of these are back at home in storage.

    My current focus is on scale model boats with radio control. My current projects are:
    • Purchased a PERKASA on ebay; This needs some refurbihment and renewal of the radio gear.
    • Started building the Banckert from Billing Boats;
    • I also have Muritz from Precendent in the dock;
    • I also have a second hand Damen Stuntug ( the closest real example is EnAvant-7) that I am in process of refurbhing. Does anyone have any good pictures that may help with this project?

    As you would see an ambitous start. However, I am keen to buid them one by one. I'll keep you updated as I progress.

    Cheers.

              Welcome to the forum Murat, it is good to see a fellow modeller in Aberdeen interested in tugs. A pity the pond is drained for the annual clean out this week. The way you are tackling the various projects is similar to mine, in that there are too many on the go. They all get finished... eventually. Keep up to date with this forum as it is very fast paced and needs checking out at least twice a day.

              cheers

              Jim

              p.s. to Richard W - you don't know what you are missing, great cameraderie at the pondside and a great way of avoiding the television as you spend the time well in the workshop, Go on have a go. I would not have considered changing mediums but am really looking forward to the Spitfire group build.

                Firstly Kecem,

                A very warm welcome to the forum. You do seem to have taken on a lot but we all seem to anyway. I have models in the attic that have been in storage for twenty years and some partly built that old. One day!!

                I discovered RC model boating only a few years ago and got started with a couple of ready built Ebay items that needed a coat of looking at to get them up and running. I am building my own as well and as Big JBB says it keeps you away from the tely and the pond side on a Sunday morning realy is a highlight of the week for me.

                There really is nothing more relaxing than seeing one of your creations manoeuvring around the pond and performing they way you hoped it would.

                Richard W. buy something ready made and easy to work on with a big open hull and give it a go. If you don't like it sell it again but I bet you do.
