    Only modelling events..?

    Hi friends!

During all this time here, I learn two things...

The first is, seems the best or bigger modelling events on UK are Cosford and Telford. O_o

The second is, seems many of the members here are part of a local clubs that organized 'little' events...

Just wondering myself if you visit another kind of events. Maybe these ones hasn't be related on the modelling world, but are really interesting as well

I don't understand why, but here I haven't modelling events!!! I talk with people and the most near ones are on the south part, really far from where I live

Anyway I have another kind of events, here and on the south France part, really interesting... The Ancient Toys ones !!!

My ideal place to search items for my collection in five weeks I will have the opportunity to visit my favorite one this year, it will be celebrate at the same day as my birthday.... :P

Well, this is the question! You visit ancient Toys events, ship shows, retro cars activities...? Or only modelling events? :P

    Regards

    Polux

I belong to a car club & attend meets, but that's my lot - that & model building is my geek quota I guess!

Problem I have is living in an Island 9*5 miles with 100,000 population there is not much scope for putting on a show.

There are 3 retailers one is more or less train the others model section in multi mode shops. So there must be some interest.

Keep saying that I must start a model club but I have reservations. I used to belong to a film making club and really loved the whole thing. But then as is inevitable , I have found, I with another ended up running the whole thing. I fear, huh know, that will happen but I have served my time and spent my time. Even got the local paper to assist when I want to start and also a retailer to sponsor. But the fear nags.

May still do it all as the problem is I have not seen with my own eyes any other models built by others in the coming up to 4 years model making.

Hi Polux you are correct in that Telford and Cosford are two of the biggest model events in the uk and I'm very lucky living close to both but I also visit other events which are a distance away that take my fancy and normally turn those visits into mini holidays say 2-3 -4 days with 1 of these days to take in the event/show .1 of my favourites is Bovington Tank museum which is in Dorset a few hundred miles away but well worth the visit I've been a number of times to this in the last 40 years .I have also visited Jersey Channel Islands which as the underground hospital which is very interesting .Basically if it takes my interest miles are not a factor for me .We also have a classic car show once a year locally with some great exhibits .I will say that once I had to abandon a visit to Cosford Airshow after waiting many hours in total gridlock i decided to give up and go home But in the main we are very lucky here as there are numerous events/shows in the uk I haven't mentioned regards John
