    Decal Fix?

I ordered some replacement decals for my JU-52 build as the ones in the box were ruined but the news ones seems to have no adhesion at all, so I was wondering what anyone would recommend? Is Decal fix an ideal product or is there something better?

I usually use Revell decal fix Adrian with no real problems

I've got Micro Sol and Set, but picked up my model this morning and the top decals literally blew off. Not come across this before so thinking its the decals rather than the solution, just looking for something to grab hold of them till the dry in place

Thanks, resorted to this method after all, the decals just wont stick to all that corrugated ridges

I use water and not used any of the Micros for the last 3 models. That includes a Wessex with a brute of a decal on the nose.

But if you are having problems with sticking I would fix the decal and before it is dry airbrush with a water based varnish such as Vallejo matt which will definitely stick it as it sticks up any airbrush if you do not wash it out pronto.

I normally use the Klear method Adrian ,giving the model an overall coat first , then when dry , brush some on the surface where the decal is going to go , it stops silvering and normally pulls the decal down into the detail although the JU 52 is a tricky one due to it having the corrugations. cheers tony

I used revell decal soft recently which sank the decals into the panel lines so might be worth trying as tony suggested Klear underneath with decal soft on top just an idea for you to try also might it be worth trying soaking the decals in warm water might make them softer good luck Ade

Yes, been there with the corrugations and using old decals. I drowned the surface in Humbrol Decalfix then used a sponge to push them into the recessions. Make sure they are straight first though, there is little chance of going back once they are set.

With a combination of Micro Sol and Set, Klear and lots of prayers I've managed to get half decent set of decals on to my JU-52, I'll post pics soon on my JU-52 build page.
