    I'm back from my trip

What a weekend , I finally walked the decks of the HMS Victory at the historic docks in Portsmouth and it was better than I had ever imagined , I've wanted to go and see her since I was about six when my brother bought me a small kit of it and I was very impressed

Two down sides to the weekend

One we were on a holiday park full of cocker knees , not your cheeky chappy sort but your brash uncooth load and annoying types not nice

And then there was the fact I forgot my model to do , I did however remember the brushes, paints glue tweezers , scalpels but no kit ! That was safley at home on the kitchen table , D'ho !

But a great weekend and one I'm glad to have shared with my wife

I'll post photos when I've got them off the camera

Yes Portsmouth Alan is a treat and a half.

Not only Victory but also HMS Warrior the first iron clad ship. Amazing boat as it could be propeller driven and also after withdrawing the propeller sail.

The embroidery in the military museum is also a great feature. A real treat a ferry over the water to Gosport for the submariner museum and WW11 HMS alliance, the submarine. Visited about 10 year ago and not sure but think this is the one I went thro. It is just an incredible 30 minute journey. Alongside some of the original submarines and so crude but the start of the submariner existence.

Portsmouth has it all a trip along the water in Portsmouth harbour to see all the naval boats being renovated or prepared for sea. If you have not been there have a go. If possible 4 days to see at least the best bits.

Little more time. Chichester Harbour beautiful area with loads of wild life. Then Southampton for the aircraft display and a Sunderland Flying boat you can crawl over.

Yeah Scott it was a great weekend , I have passes for the year so we plan to go back in august but stay in a hotel in Portsmouth itself this time , we have friends down there so we will hook up with them this time

Only thing we missed out on seeing was the submarine museum and the Royal Marines museum due to it taking a bit of a toll on the wife but with tickets for the year we can go when ever we want
