Your right Patrick and I know this might sound harsh but if you believe these things and you do get conned it serves you right

People should know these things are a con for one simple reason , they appear in your spam box !!!

The thing that really made me laugh with this one was the bit at the end that said 'we are sorry for the plight you have gone through in the past '!!!

I thought how kind of them recognise my plight of being used as a taxi driver be my kids lol

I would forward it to the FBI, with the senders (DanelK) email address, it could be the Suits would like to talk to him.

He is after all posing as a Federal Agent and that is even more illegal than scamming suckers.

Not harsh at all Alan, I quite agree!

I read a book where as part of an investigation into gangs, this journalist played along with some of these scammers & they're a nasty rough bunch! Not adverse to kidnapping & sending your relatives parts of your body to encourage payment!

Well, if they knew everything they needed to know about you, and this was legit, they why would they not just make contact, like over the phone?

It seems like it's pretty important, and if they are serious, they should at least call you and get into voice to voice contact, and not trust it to email.

                      That'd be my take.

Sometimes I think these things are written by and for people for whom english is not the first language. Then it might sound more legal and important, if you didn't know the subtle shades of nuance.

As english speakers, that is our true advantage. We can spot a fraud fairly quickly in that way.

I think its pretty obvious. If someone sends an E-mail telling you that you have won/inherited/been awarded its a wind up.

                        simple as!

Yes just like the silly things "your bank account has been suspended due to unusual activity" please log into ??!! etc etc. I have had a whole host of these messages. Funny thing is that I do not have any accounts with any of them. Plus my own bank has not hit these headlines yet.

But in all this these people are not doing these things for fun. They are feeding on people who are not so worldy wise.

In Jersey we have had recently 3 elderley people who have been swindled out of a lot of money by types who have conned them into"investing" their money.

Incredible one was a Jersey Magistrate and an Advocate (Barrister in English terms) of the Royal Court of Jersey. Not content with the excessive pay he was already receiving in this most trusted of positions in society.
