The spanking new MANCAVE! Scroll down page 2 to see it kitted out!

Well, the shed arrived last Thursday evening, 10x6-no room for any bigger really.

So, what did me and my wonderful missus do?

The shed is tongue and grooved 14mm slightly rounded panels and tongue and grooved roof and floor, nice and heavy duty. First job was to coat the outside in a oil based covering-the wood is tanalised, but still needs coating. Then it was the interior: But of course, this being me, I was not too happy with the build quality-could be the modeller in me ...so after inspection, and lots of tutting of finding it all nail gunned, out came the cordless drill and loads of decking screws-the floor now sits level as does the side framing. Once sorted it was insulated using polystyrene sheets and chippings-that done it was clad top to bottom, sealed around the edges and lino fitted. New longer heavy-duty hinges fitted with coachbolts (a heavy-duty padlock and fittings that use coachbolts will be added when they arrive. Alarm fitted and is watched over by my CCTV camera.

Table added and some storage for paints etc. Still loads to do in fitting it out but the main work is now done. Even the dog likes it

Soon will be modelling again...more rusty junk coming your way.

    Si

Very nice. Are you putting mains electric into it? I read in a Model Rail supplement that electrical wiring and polystyrene insulation don't mix and there is some sfety recommendation about separation distances. It might be worth looking into if you haven't already.
On the bench: Airfix 1/48 Sea King HC4, Revell 1/24 Trabant.
Coming soon: Airfix 1/72 Phantom FGR2.
Just finished: Airfix 1/48 Stuka & Airfix 1/72 Sea King HC4.

I hope so, no more getting under the wife's feet and all the modelling stuff in a proper place with room to work.

Yep, cannot have it hard-wired so to speak, so going to go down the extension lead route-going to get a IP66 empty socket box, attach to the outside shed and have the plug from the extension reel housed within, just open, take out the plug and extend into the house, once finished it will wind back up and live in the box all watertight. The amount of electrical usage will be light, heat and the AB, so a good RCD will serve. It is not as if I am going to spend days in there...

Yeah, that's the idea Mike. It is insulated and cladded so a small heater will just keep it toasty.

All sorted Lee, it is already insulated and cladded, I have a small heater that isn't too taxing using an extension lead...as for coffee...that maybe a flask. It is going to be mega...and it's all mine (drools).
