Hi Si I can sympathize with you had a toothache for a fortnight now which is getting worse but I will never go to the dentist again (had a bad experience about 30 years ago and he wanted to book me back in to have the rest of them removed ( as he said I had gum desease and they would all fall out anyway)) well that was 30 years ago and I still have all the other teeth I had then. Wish you all the best but a team of wild horses will never get me to the dentist again.

Dosed up on painkillers and cleaning (gently, but regular) the tooth area with sensitive toothpaste-to seal it and also get any bits that may get stuck.

        Si...

The bit I hate most is the bill after. Ouch.

          Hope it goes well Si.

Is there a chemists open near you Si? If so, get some oil of cloves - there's nothing better to soothe toothache ....except many many drinks!

Good sinus infection can make all the teeth hurt.

Got into the dentist today, had an x-ray and a good poke about all clear, no sign of decay. But what I have got is inflamed ligaments around the teeth on the right side, this is caused by clenching and is brought on by stress (my father is still in hospital and we are looking at a nursing home) and my increase of depression medication (it has been increased and it can cause clenching).

So, antibiotics in case of an infection, painkillers and soft foods and see how it goes.

                    Si...still hurting.

Well at least it's not your teeth Si. Fingers crossed your new mancave gives you the chance for some relaxation to relieve your stress.

Anti depressant meds often have more side effects than what they're supposed to help with! Ask me how I know

Si a dentist consultation he sought

No sign of decay as was thought

                        And so relax he said

                        You need some med.

So Si go for it uncork that port

About 30 years ago I had symptoms just like that. It went up the side of my face, very painfulI. I went to the dentist and after a tap with a tool said it had nothing to do with dentistry. (I wonder how he knew). He said see my doctor. I was referred quickly and a blocked salivary gland was diagnosed. (I think the backing up of the saliva caused the pain). A very small operation (inpatient) to relieve a "stricture" (fancy word for a narrowing) in the duct cured it. All on the NHS.

                          How is the pain now?

Glad you now know what it is, hope the antibiotics do the trick, perhaps you need to get the missus to give you a nice relaxing massage, hope you get your dad sorted ok, that must be a big load of stress, I have been on antidepressants as well and know they can have some really nasty side effects.

Wishing you all the best and a speedy recovery.

I still have mine luckily enough I have co drydamol for my arthritis in my knees and am taking that for the pain hoping the nerve or whatever it is will die so the pain will go only supposed to take max of 8 a day but am upto ten at mo still these doses have all got huge safety margins on them so that probably ok, and luckily as I have an under active thyroid I don't pay for my prescriptions

Blimey fellows so much medical info.

Any body know of cures for a fellow in his 76 year.

Will not list the massive problems just need a cure all pill. Strange I do not suffer from tooth ache.

                              Laurie

So it's tingly feet, dodgy ski knee, hips at night, dodgy football neck, cricket bowling back, memory resistant brain, dry eyes and old age. Strange thing is I have all my hair (well 95%) and a great working heart.

However 2 paracetamol at night sort the problems. A couple of beers during the day and I am away.
