    Introducing myself

Hello fellow modelers, or is it modellers?

After a lapse of 20 years, I've decided to pick up scale modeling again as a pastime. As a start, I've just bought a 1/800th scale model of the USS Enterprise CVN-65 by ARII.

My next step is to start getting the right tools to start working again. The best thing and biggest difference then and now is that I now have the internet to help me out with tons of information and it seems like this forum is right up my alley. (FYI, I keyed in "scale modeling forum" in google to find me here)

I am more inclined to aircraft and my current obssession is to build the B-52 Stratofortress. But the 1/144th scale model is about the most decent model worth building, but, firstly have to find the 'airspace' at home to display it (when I do build it) and secondly, I would like my tools and workspace to be well set up before I start.

The reason I am starting with the Enterprise is because it will take up very little real estate on my display shelf (about 2ft and that's all) and I am also equally fascinated by its illustrious history as the B-52.

I would love to hear from those who are also into aircraft carriers or the B-52.

A very warm welcome to the scale models forum Choocn.

Have a good look through our archives, tutorials and picture gallery's and see if there is anything of any use to you.

I would also have a look at the Model Boat Mayhem website, dedicated to model boats, who also have a wealth of information regarding the subject.

In the world of RC model boats there are not a great number of carriers but what ones do appear every now and then are quite spectacular.

I hope if we cannot give you any specifics we can at least give you some degree of help and asistance with your project.

Hi Choon and welcome to the webs most friendly modelling forum! You will find great people, great information and hours of fun in this site!

B-52s - i find it strange that you praise the 1:144th version as 99% of the people i speak to about this aircraft are making the 1:72nd or massive 1:48th versions!

Pogo, one of our members is currantly having a similar problem with his B-52; FINDING SOMEWHERE TO PUT IT! lol!

Is the attachment some form of cantonesse?
