Lego, you're probably going to have to wait until the kid is about 4 (that's when I started getting lego for my eldest). You build, they play, it's a win-win really.

Only thing is, you should prepare for the worst...kit building will probably have to take a back seat for a while.

You'll love it, I've done it twice.
