Well I haven't been to an airshow since 1988, funnily enough that was Cosford as well. Anyway my friend said we should go as I was off, so he collected me at 7am and off we went, by the time we got to Junct 3 we were queued back to the island but we didn't mind as we knew this was going to happen.
Well to cut a long story short I had taken my Nikon DSLR with a new 300mm lens as I wanted to get some pictures, but been a self confessed buffoon when it comes to cameras I let my friend and another friend we met up with play with my camera and set it up for me. After taking several shots of the large scale models that were flying they assured me I was good to go........so imagine my surprise when I get home ( after waiting 2 hours in the queue to get off the base ) that all my pictures are over exposed
I did look from time to time at my screen and even now they look acceptable but on the PC monitor all I have is completely whited out back grounds and poor images of all the shots I took,,, some 999 images btw
I've gone through them and have about 10 that I consider ok,,, strange thing was half way through the Red Arrows display I switched my camera to sports mode to get pictures as there was so much going on, then switched it back,,, those pictures at least have some colour if not fantastic.
Moral of this story,,,leave my camera at home and just enjoy the show next time,,,,I'm so gutted
