Hi - I have just started model making again a 30 year absence. In my youth I worked at a model shop in Letchworth called Model Images Retail. Does anyone on this forum remember it? We stocked kits, trains. RC cars, planes and helicopters, Scalextric and all sorts of parts and accessories. I mainly got paid with my choice of kit and have quite a stash which has moved house with me 5 times. A diagnosis of Parkinson's Disease has given me the impetus to get cracking on them. I am a bit baffled by all the paint choices nowadays but am looking forward to trying out all the new weathering options. I am already amazed by Tamiya Extra Thin cement, there was nothing like this when I started!

Welcome mate, sorry to hear of your diagnosis but I'm sure there is a whole load of remedial effect in catching up with the current modelling scene!

Hi and welcome mate. Relative noob here too, I think most on here are "returning" modellers, For me it was a 40+ year hiatus! Lol....
Things have certainly moved on, but I have to say mostly for the better, adhesive that actually works and does not go off after few days, better paints, better kits, etc, etc.
Keep us up to date with how you get on, pics are always good.... cheers👍 1Comment
