There's only a couple o' things stoppin' you Chris:

1) You'd need summat a bit more powerful than a penny banger to sink your Tiger.
2) We'd get together an' hang you from the yardarm for destroyin' such a beautiful piece o' work!

WELL dave :thinking:firstly them penny banger you are on about as im sure you can rememeber them were little demon but by god if one it went off in your hand you would not have a hand left as they were so powerfull in them 1960 's erea not like todays pitifull efforts an 2 well id better be carefull with tiger then as i wont want all you guys gangin up on me to be hung fron the yardarm Oooohhhhh NO :crying::crying::crying::crying: an there's about over 3 grands worth of ship there an even silly me wont do anything but sail it an ive got collectors wanting it so even if you guys dint hang me im sure they would LOL :tongue-out3::rolling::smiling5::smiling5::smiling5::smili ng5::smiling5: ps plus ive now got a bit more sence then what i had nr 50 yrs ago

Welcome Martin - do you lean to Modern IDF, or the older WWII converted half tracks & Shermans? - I've got a HobbyBoss Nagmachon that I keep on looking in the box , and being put off by the slat armour. The IDF certainly made full use of the chassis' of their old Centurions!

It's the tanks I'm planning to concentrate on. I especially like the shot and Magach and really looking forward to building a Tiran. I believe Tamiya do a Late Tiran 5 or I may attempt a T55 conversion, not decided yet :-)
The Nagmachon kit crops up whenever I search for idf kits...tempting but looks fiddly.
I'm interested in the outcome if you decide to build the thing

I knew I'd built another IDF vehicle - a few years ago - the HobbyBoss Achzarit - I do have an Academy Merkava in my stash as well, but the 'ball and chain' armour under the rear of the turret put me off every time I look at it! There are some good IDF M60 Blazers, and AMX-13s around as well, but seem to be more scarce these days!

I built a Tamiya Merkava back in the day but the other manufacturers kits look way more detailed.

finally found a pic - this was done in 2017 - I had to look in my back up files!

Nice model to build, but ended up rather boring - it really needed some figures to give a point of interest

Nice build Dave.
I agree though, the vehicle itself doesn't have much going on.
BTW, even though my interest is in Idf vehicles, my first build is a Tamiys Chieftan which was the unexpected Xmas prezzie that got my modelling juices flowing after all these years.
I'll get a wip thread going at some point :-)
