I have much "roadbox" envy. Stopped carrying one when purchased new 'unused' car that came w/roadside assistance. I have a small one in the wife's car.

You got your money's worth out of those brakes!

That's both brilliant and rare in such a male dominated industry.

I've been in the motor trade for over 40 years, originally a mechanic before moving to the bodywork side, and I've only come across one female mechanic.

My wife got her qualifications and did an apprenticeship at the Sheffield ambulance workshops, even did a spell on the spanners abroad, but back then no one wanted girls fixing vehicles so sadly she was forced to pursue a different career.

I was surprised they continued the flight.
If I were on board would I would prefer the drivers to burn off fuel weight, than to return and land heavy on a weakened landing gear. May as well go where there's long runways and lots of engineering support. Assuming the airframe wasn't compromised of course.

I understand & agree with points taken. They could purge fuel over the closest ocean & return, but to not even do a tower flyby to video damage or at least put a glass on the underside seems a tad cavalier, unless it's not uncommon.
