Back in th emid '90's, I latched onto the Mach One top fuel team helping to adjust the valves and clutch pack. My son and his GF of the time waxed the body work on the rail.

No, it's a Minute Maid drink. I gave up drinking back in '90 when my son was born.

Gave up drag racing w/second child (late 60s), and drinking shortly after third (mid 70s). Ran stock, modified stock, & gas classes at various times. Wanted to run our oval car in altered, but was outvoted. Lots of fun till we lost our sponsor due to three blown engines (in a row) due to a bad batch of Mickey Thompson boxed aluminum rods. PaulE

Yes James, the oval car was a 427cu. in. big block Chevy in a tube frame w/Gremlin sheet metal. The last modified class drag car was a 302cu. in. small block Chevy in a 60 Chevy sedan delivery. Both were highly modified V8s, but the small block was taken to the extreme with a 9200RPM red line. Nice!! Can't beat the big blocks.

As a true environmentalist I have had to move from naturally aspirated V8 to twin turbo V8

Back in my racing days (60s) turbos were pretty unreliable & not really affordable as they, waste gates & intercoolers were expensive & their relationships not fully understood by most hotrodders. The later amazing Buick V6 turbo cars were considered black magic by most. Modern electronics make them even better today. PaulE

Don't know much about Turbo performance but I'm still driving my "Supercharged" V6 Pontiac GTP Coupe. Lots 'O Beans when I need 'em and 33mpg highway mileage when I don't. :smiling3: Rick H.

Ya jus can't beat a three point eight. Aftermarket pulleys give a bit of a boost. A friend polished inside & rotors, added pulleys, bigger TB & injectors for added perf. Got him into the low 13s with an otherwise stock Buick Regal. PaulE
