This was my tribute build to Alan G.
I just hope he is reasonably pleased with my efforts.
This is a depiction of a FW190D-9 that was in service toward the end of the 1945, and is shown with the red and white underside the pilots requested so that they were identifiable to the anti aircraft gunners on the airfields that they were defending, which also earned them the nickname of the Papagel-Staffel or Parrot Squadron. The long nose and tail that was added to accomodate the 12 cylinder engine that it was powered by, also gave the D version the name Long-nose Dora. Dora being the German phonetic word for the letter D.
Thanks for following along in my building of this iconic aircraft, it was a pleasure to build as the Hasagawa kit was outstanding.
