I don't believe what I have just read. I am sorry if my post has been misinterpreted.

This obviously was never my intention to upset anyone, that's not my style. I was just a bit confused as to what was O.K. to build and posted a request for clarification.

Perhaps in hindsight my choice of 'Veiled argument' was inappropriate and I should have worded it differently......

I don't understand why Fenlander has posted that 'Having fun is a crime around here these days' I really don't.

This or any other forum is not the place to have a go at an individual, veiled or otherwise. Suffice to say that I am obviously the villain of the piece in his decision to leave.

I refuse to be drawn or respond to his last sentence.

As far as I'm concerned this little episode is done and finished.

    Thanks,

    Ron

Hey! You two at the back! Pack it in or you will be put on detention!!!!

Being the Moderator for the GB's also means that I have the last word.

The Tilly is a light Utility Vehicle. If we need a more technical explanation, Its a pick-up TRUCK. I wrote the word TRUCK in block so there can be no doubt.

The Tilly is approved for construction in this build.

As stated in the poll for the GBs which 60% of those that bothered to vote the subject is Truck/Trailer with load.

End Of Subject. Can we all get back to being friends now please!!!

I have been a member here now for quite a long time and have never known anyone get upset or fall out. I hope that this works out ok in the end and we are all one big family again. Fenlander is such a great chap and would be missed by a lot of people. Hope he comes back to us he has been a key player here for a hell of a long time.

I moderate on other forums and the main thing that everyone has to accept is that written text cannot contain the inflections of verbal diologue (even with all these smilies to help out), it also depends on the mood of the reader at the time as to how they interpret the text, this is sometimes how little "flares" like this happen. The odd post will always be missunderstood - best thing is to take a few minutes and then re-read the post, sometimes it reads totally differently.

Any way ... now i've waffled a bit ... this 'ere build thing .... is it open to anyone?

build a truck !! ...got that bit (I have a truck to build and modify for a diorama i'm doing so thats covered, i take the "load" could be injured soldiers?)

Do we have a cetain time to complete?, then we post pictures i presume? any prize or is it for fun (or do we get a trophy )

Recent events have really highlighted what is important in life and, although I know I've been guilty of starting a debate or 2 in the past, it simply isn't worth falling out over.

I haven't fallen out with anybody. Life is too short for that sort of nonsense.

I'm just dumbfounded by the whole thing........

Hi Colin. The normal Group builds run for three months so the next is April 1st to the last day in June. Anyone is welcome to join in the fun the only requirement is you open your build thread in the correct section, (don't panic, its not posted yet), Give the thread a title which will identify it; please include your name in the title, as it make it easier to follow who is doing what... Please post as many pictures of the build as it progresses as you feel the need, Its really interesting to see the build come together. AND if there are problems others can help out should they see a boo boo!

Prizes: If you are good you can get a gold star! Its all in the name of fun.

Now for the tricky bit. People are not cargo they are passengers. The only exception I will accept are Ambulances and buses. I hope that that don't put you off.

Can not wait! I have tucked away at the moment the 1/35 Tamiya dragon wagon with trailer. I suppose as to load there is quite a choice other than the usual recovered tank. Any ideas anyone?? The only thing is that the misses is quite pregnant at the mo and our due date is the 25th of may. That could get in the way of progress a little! Anyone got real photos for diorama reference please post.

Well here are a few bits of inspiration...

                    John S. Mitchell WWII

                    Diorama "Dragon Wagon und Biber"

AeroScale :: Book Review: Dragon Wagon by Ken Fortier

The first link could make a bit of room in the parts box.

The last one could make a fantastic diorama but might be a bit much for three months.

Seems this topic was tidied up and posts were deleted to make it look pretty to the outside world, i asked a few questions in my post...

Might have been newbie ones but would have been nice if they were answered.

Sorry Colin I thought that I had replied, it would seen that it was a big broom that swept the cobwebs away, along with my reply. Could I ask you to repeat the questions, was it not some thing about people being cargo? If that was the case then No people are not cargo they are passengers. The ONLY exception will be an Ambulance or buses.

Guess I'll give it a miss this time :fool:

No worries, i use a large dustpan and brush on forums occasionally myself

I think in general you've answered my main question, i have a "M*A*S*H" themed diorama on the go at present and was thinking about using a dodge truck/ ford bus .. along with patients and medical equipment..... so is that a yes ???

My other questions are covered too ie...

is it open to anyone = yep?

how long do we have to do it = found that out by reading back on GB forum ..so yep, got that!

then i asked if we won anything or if there was a trophy or something

Thanks for that Ian, I'm just getting to know whats where on the forum and sifting through previous threads systematically ... you know what us forum newbies are like

                              Well glad thats sorted!

A M*A*S*H diorama would fit the bill just nicely. If its got a red cross on it then its an ambulance :-)

                              Any one can join in.

Only thing you will win is satisfaction and maybe some good tips along the way.

Forum newbies; Hmm, I used to be one of those too, so no worries.
