    Ade's 1:24th North American P51D Mustang

First of my three planned 1:24th builds for this year is the P51D Mustang, this will be a practice board for my BMF skills, I'm planning to just build this one straight out of the box as I have the Tamiya 1:32 Mustang to build as well.

    So here's the sprue shots

I dont think I have ever built a Mustang, of any size or version.

I'll just have to watch you build your one.

Well, I've made a start, it's pretty basic stuff as I wont be adding any after market parts, my main goal is to use this model as a test bed for my BMF work on my 1:32 Tamiya Mustang later in the year.

Anyway, I'm using Mr Hobby Metaliser colours for the engine, mainly Dark Iron with a few aluminium highlights. I so like the idea of buffing up the finish rather than having to dry brush on any detail.

                    Looking very nice Adrian.

And parts look much better moulded than the one of the Spitfire.

I could use some advice, if I'm doing the Red tails version, should I add any armaments to my build or just the drop tanks?

Just the drop tanks I would have thought.

What Barry said Adrian, they were primarily escort fighters so drop tanks would have been the order of the day.
