The time frame is start August to end of November; Ian M said to remind him closer to the date and he'll start the forum for it. Plenty of time to dither or change your choice of subject!

I've been thinking about this GB, I have lots of figure sets now, and a few of "infantry at rest", so I think that will be the theme for my entry. EG: general soldiers in some form of down time, not in battle....A plan is forming, I'm thinking BIG!
Do we have an exact start date yet?
      Cheers
EDIT, oops sorry just seen post above Aug Start date noted, cheers....

Reference my last it will be a start date of !st August (ending last day of November), I think I have some 'Infantry at Rest' sets and they resonate with me! Although 'PBI' is the theme most of our time is 'hurry up and wait', I'm chin-strapped'', or 'I need to scran and crash ...' Only a tiny percentage of any squaddies time is spent in contact (If at all) - so, yes. I love your concept already mate! Look forward to your 'offering' Thanks for your continuing interest!

Have you considered a pastiche of all the (model) nationalities portrayed? Whatever uniform is worn the pain and weariness is universal, There's no need to constrain yourself to a period - why not combine a mixture of time, nationalities and conflicts -for example, - the soldier from WW1 laying alongside a Falklands squaddie, alongside a Hoplite --- they'll all talk the same language! Suspend disbelief, let the imagination run riot!

The US Soldiers at rest is a good kit, Peter. I used four of these for two of my dios...guess which one was bombed on?

              Cheers,

Oh go on then! I have a punning clan which involves a set of new figures in a dio with some figures I built some time ago. Would that be OK?

Absolutely - this GB is meant to be an exercise in lateral thinking (provided it covers PBI of course!!)

Well July is here and soon August (plus the start of the PBI GB) will be upon us! Ian M kindly said to remind him and he'd create a forum for us - so, please create away Ian! I have no idea how this will work so I'm eager to see this come together! Just a reminder that the time frame is the start of August to the end of November.

Really looking forward to this one, I have an idea of what I want to build and will not be like anything else I've done so far, although I've not done that many builds so far anyway.....but eager to get going on 1st august for this one..... 8-)

I think I will have a go at this one. I was thinking about this sculpt I did but it was a couple of years ago. It's a copy of our local war memorial. However I have thought of another sculpt that I will have a go at, at about 120 mm.
