It's an Aerosan - an armoured cabin on skis, powered by an aircraft engine & propeller! The Russians had several variants - obviously used in the Northern Russian winter - unique to the Soviets
This was lifted from an interesting site for Russian WWII https://www.o5m6.de/redarmy/index.php which may be of interest to this GB

Thanks Lee, will have to research how to use PE - a lot of little bits to be bent up into channel fixings for the skis :surprised: :thumb2:Comment

These are extremely unusual vehicles, but apparently very versatile. Have seen them in use in other applications during WW2 as well......I recently spotted one being used as a winter ambulance by the Wehrmacht. Not sure what country......could have been anywhere in east Europe or even Russia.

When I bought the armoured kit, also bought a couple of the unarmoured kits (only one little bit of PE in them! :smiling5: :smiling5: ) with the idea of a dio of workshop/shed and some mechanics prepping them for action. These are extremely unusual vehicles, but apparently very versatile.
