    Bowcat's Panzer, Panther & Tiger

    Hi guys,

Having finished the SR-71 egg plane I've decided that I didn't give this GB a fair crack of the whip and so I'm going to build a trilogy of WW2 German armour.

    These will be WWT-013 Panzer IV, WWT-007 PzKpfw V Panther & WWT-001 Tiger I.

Box & sprue shots to follow.

    Cheers,

    B

    Nice one Bob.
I built the King Tiger. Be careful, VERY tight locating thingies. I cut them all off. They are not needed. Your models might be different, just be aware.

    Cheers.
    Ron

Hi Bob nice choicesthey all go together really well.

I've put a few tips below about dry fitting etc on these types kit, may or may not help I'm certainly not trying to tell you how to build your models It's just what I've learnt building them.

Dry fitting is a problem as once the two parts are together they are some times very hard to separate. I soon learnt that early on with the toon tanks, far be it for me to tell any of you how to build but a quick sand around the connecting pins and you can get them apart again without damage, the other tip is to cut 3/5mm of the smaller connecting pin the male one, that is best one I have found.

I would also recommend that you thoroughly wash the tank tracks, on the last two toons thay were very oily and even the sprues had a slight oily feel.

I haven't come across a glue that won't glue these together yet and I glue everything on.

        Pete.

          Cheers Pete

Sounds like they are a lot like the Bandai Star Wars snap together kits, a right bugger to get apart again.

Started work on the Tiger today. The kit just falls together. It needed a touch of filler on the rear panel, and a bit of Mr Surfacer 500 on the barrel and turret.

                      Cheers guys.

I pretty much always build OOB, however each one is going to have a different paint job.

I have to say, I'm enjoying these a lot more than the egg plane. Dare I say I'm starting to "get" toons.
