Richard - the tray is actually a ceramic paint palette :smiling5: Not sure the vermillion suits me.....

last night (or rather early this morning - 1am as I was off to bed) I mixed up a slurry of pale sand pigment and thinners and blathered it all over the place

It has now dried off and left it looking like it has been dipped in mud, all previous layers pretty much obscured

Now need to cut it all back without totally ruining the previous layers

A neat trick if you can pull it off Mr T. Looking forward to seeing how you get on

Steve / Jim - I shall hopefully attack it tonight after work and find out if I have ruined it completely or not

                  Hi Simon
Certainly has worked. That is a very realistic finish - well used.

                    Simon,
That is a great finish mate looking very lived in. Steering wheel?

                        Thanks one and all

Scottie - only loosely assembled so far. Wheels, passenger seat, steering wheel and Bren gun all need to be fixed on. They are sat here ready for final assembly

Jim it's alright for Simon to lick the pencil point, but we mere mortals should refrain from such pastimes.
Looking good Simon, looking fwd to seeing the final result.

Thanks John - need to decide what I am doing about the crew figures before fixing the internals
