    Greg's 1/16 British Police Officer

    Hello all,

This will be my contribution to the GB. I've not tried a large(ish) figure before, so it'll be interesting to try and get a handle on faces and other intricate details. Hopefully I can learn a few tricks and scale it back to 1/35 for other models.

Not much to go on as far as sprue shots go, but it is what it is!

    Thanks,
    Greg

Does it come with decals? If not I'll be intrigued to see how you handle the hat band, cravat and police badge.

No decals to be seen, so I guess I'll be free-handing it. Probably the bit I'm dreading most!

          Any use?
CHECKS decals water slide transfers 2, 3, 4, 6MM BLACK. WATER SLIDE TRANSFERS. We screen print all our decals ( water slide transfers ) and now have added UV ECO Printer for 4 colour process process for decals and Stickers.

Looks good. It'll be a fun GB with a mixture of models and figures

Yeah. Lots of different types and styles of subjects. Really looking forward to the start.

Ah thanks Pete, I hadn't considered trying to find some aftermarket decals. Those ones are actually a little too large, but I did manage to find another set that should look okay (the checks on the model are just under a millimeter - I found a set that have 1 millimeter squares, which hopefully won't look too big). I think I'll give it a go with paints, and if I can't get it looking good, I'll get a set of the decals. Thanks again!

I've finally made a start on this one. First challenge was the fit between both halves of the torso. There was quite a chasm all around, but a bit of putty and sanding has sorted it out for the most part.

The belt still looks terrible, but fortunately the seams will be covered by the straps for the holsters, so I wasn't too worried about that. Next up was some paint, and I found early on that painting the checkers was near impossible. So thank you Pete for the decal suggestion, they look far better than I ever could have done by hand!

Next up was some kit attachments. I've put off the head for now but might not be able to avoid it much longer... :smiling5:
