    Outrunner's 1/24 Revell Lightning McQeen.

You also have the choice of using stickers or decals.

Lightning McQueen was the star of the Disney/Pixar series of films of which I thought the first one was the best.
For those that have not seen it here is a link to a Youtube short.

Something different Andy. I had to Google this to educate myself. Looks a fun kit.

I have a friend who has a ten year old. A few years ago, he was obsessed with this.

      Should be a fun model.

These movies are not my cup of tea, but the model has more parts than I expected, so I guess the question is: which of the two sets of markings are you going to use?

Well, as far as I am concerned you know where they can stick the stickers! :smiling5:

Great stuff. A real fun build. My favourite character was Doc Hudson…..got a Hudson Hornet in the stash….must build it someday…..

While waiting for materials to complete my truck model I figured I had better get on with this one so I primed a few bits.

After priming I notice a couple of mold lines I have missed on the body so a bit more sanding required.

Engine done and chassis almost finished.

I know the colours are a bit out there, but it's a cartoon car so why not have some fun?

I have the running chassis all done now.

And I painted the body which was still drying when I took the picture but I think it's way too dark.

The Tamiya X7 is not as bright as I would like, but with a gloss coat and a load of decals it may be OK but I will see how I feel tomorrow.

                          Andy.

I don't think that dark grey primer will be helping you Andy. On the full size stuff I deal with reds can often need 2-3 times as many coats to cover a dark surface than a lighter one and I'm sure model paints will be similar.

The lightest grey primer you can find, even white, would give the red a more vivid appearance. One of the paint schemes I've used even recommended a pink undercoat which worked brilliantly.

Thanks for the advice Andy but I don't think I have enough paint to give it another coat so that would mean waiting about 3 days for more, I may nip in to Halfords tomorrow and get a rattle can of the brightest red I can find. :smiling2:
