And....... He's finished .... apart from a flat coat..(maybe)..I really enjoyed throwing paint at this guy,
he's turned out better than I thought he would for a 1/48 figure given that there are no paint colours mentioned on the packaging other than the basic, brown, green flesh..etc..

p.s. this is at 10x zoom, so the paintwork will look a bit ...mehh... but at normal viewing distance, it all merges perfectly...

If I could make a recommendation.....a touch of gloss coat on the goggle lenses and a bit of sheen on the boots after the dull coat may help to liven it up a bit....jus' me thots.

Good call, will splash a little 'gloss' around later....:thumb2::thumb2::thumb2::thumb2::thumb2:, would satin look better on his boots?

Right then... lets get cracking on this build and get it past the finishing line,

Started on a base, just a few coffee stirrers, some closed cell pollyboard, and a no real idea what I'm doing but the moggling gods love a tryer..
It's still a work in progress but so far so good ish ... only time will tell..

coffee stirrers cut down to 1/48 scale 3.3 mtr lengths

Great start on the base Chris, any chance of making a 1/72 scale one for my build. Ha Ha.

Finally cracked on and got the base finished... a couple of small things to deal with and I'm gonna be calling this build done....(thank god I hear you cry..lol).

Ran out of coffee stirrers.. and got sooo close to binning this whole idea, but from knowhere a cunning plan was formed....

Thanks guys, I'm not 100% happy with it, but I think that's more down to it being the first time I've tried to create a wooden carrier deck, and I didn't really know what I was doing...It's more luck than judgement, but It'll see my entry in the Pacific Carrier/Aircraft group build actually reach a conclusion. so I guess it's all good in the end..
