A bit more progress made, things are a bit chaotic at the moment, father in law passed away last week and our dogs ultrasound results show she’s now terminally ill, chuck in work and wife going away for ten days and days are just melting away. Anyway on a positive note cockpit and pilot almost finished and new squadron colour applied changing from yellow to blue.

After dropping swmbo and mum in law at the airport this morning I got some of my chores sorted then hit the desk. I got the canopy masked and sprayed up, I’ve gone for this rather than the open film studio version, I also started to remove the masking fluid used for chipping, then onto the main fuselage and engines. Sooooooo much plumbing but it looks the business

As on the x-wing the small details are excellent, especially harking back to the original film set models built out of kits, wonder which engine deck this is?

The build phase is now complete. The two guns off the canopy top are in the paint shop with the base. If you’re into plumbing then this is the kit for you, so many pipes!!! The cockpit section isn’t fully on here as there’s painting to do, when it fully locates there are about a dozen pipes that slot into its rear. I also have to add the droid too.

There certainly are pal, but not one break
The detail is amazing, looking at bits of tanks, aircraft and what even look like German gas mask cases

You can work out the size of the model used for filming from this photo There are a couple of German gas mask canisters on the “wings” and I suppose they’re either Tamiya or Italeri 1:35 scale, or possibly Airfix 1:32. Also some aircraft engines at the wing roots, if you can recognise out what those are, exactly, you probably can also work out the kit they’re from.

The front and middle part of a Panther engine deck, and since the lines on your cutting mat are at 1 cm spacings, it’s about 3 cm wide, so probably 1:76 scale. Airfix or Matchbox? Or did Fujimi also have a Panther in that scale?
