Welcome to Mr Bowcat's Racing Car & Bike GB. Chat thread

Good morning all, and a Happy New Year.

I'm trying to keep this GB as inclusive as possible, so really any racing car or bike in racing livery. Could be Rally, F1, BTCC, Le Mans, Superbikes, Drag Racers, anything you like, any scale. Can be standalone, on a simple base or in a dio (pitbox anyone?). I have already agreed to allow hot rods built as drag racers, and will include cars built for drifting. I think for these there will need to be a simple base to depict the racing scenario (eg Christmas Tree lights for drag racers).

GB will start 1st June 2024 and run until 31st August 2024. Multiple builds are fine, I'm planning on building two myself.

    So far we have:

    Mr Bowcat - Bob
    peterairfix - Peter
    Andy T - Andy
    Ian M - Ian
    tigersteve - Steve
    Mini Me - Rick
    Dave Ward - David
    Jakko
    therapy - Nick
    papa 695 - Ian
    Mickc1440 - Mick
    adt70hk - Andrew

Of course the GB is open to all.

Usual GB rules apply, any chat in this thread please and a new thread for the build, including box and sprue shots. Kits to remain unstarted until the 1st June. Completed builds should go in the appropriate forum (https://www.scale-models.co.uk/forum...-vehicles.167/) referencing the GB name in the thread title.

So that's it for now, I will send a reminder a month before the start to anybody who has joined. In the meantime, any questions please ask.
    Si vis pacem, para bellum.

      I know it's a while off but I'm probably going for a rally car. Might be a 205 if I can find a kit, or a 6r4.

Well, it's a long way away, but two potential candidates have offered themselves up

As far as I know, this is the only Monogram boxed model in my stash - it's 1/24 as well

            Welcomed aboard Simon.

Andy, Belkits do a 6R4, not cheap though.

Dave, the Audi R10 looks good. I'm considering a Le Mans type myself, maybe the Toyota Gazoo Racing, Sauber Mercedes C9 or Nissan R390 GT1.

Cheers Bob, that's the one I'm looking at.

I'd prefer a Tamiya 205 T16 but they seem to have reached rare/collector/expensive status.

I'd looked at the Toyota TS050 you mentioned but I think it's a bit complex until I get a few cars under my belt.

Yep, lots of time to choose, maybe something new will come out in the meantime.

Time allowing I'm hoping to build a car and a bike.

Might just be foolish Andy, I’m sure that’s well within your capabilities
