Talking of which I finished this on Friday - RR Wraith bonnet in piano black. I spent so long buffing that my shoulders still ache! Typical black, just look at it funny and it scratches :rolling:

That reminds me of the "League of extraordinary Gentlemen", with a bit of Captain Nemo thrown in!!

Thanks John. The guy has more cars (and money) than sense! It didn't quite meet my "perfect" standard, but given the conditions I'm working in, 99.9% will have to suffice :tears-of-joy:

I'm actually working on a big project for him that we're keeping under wraps for the moment, but if it works out I might end up earning a proper living again!

That's a good choice of subject Andy. Kit looks decent. Love what you've done with the engine.
Although the body shell is vaguely Metro everything else is a totally different beast.

That is a serious engine and you've done it up beautifully. I used to work next to a master mechanic who went on to work for a wealthy man taking care of his fleet of street & racing cars. A real plum job.

Engine looks great mate. How are you finding the kit so far?

I'm pretty impressed. There's a bit more clean up needed than a good Tamiya kit for instance, but so far everything fits nicely.

Colour call outs are a bit vague in places but I have plenty of pics to work from.

The engine is a very tight fit, but no more so than the real thing I guess :tears-of-joy:

I got some primer on the main parts this evening. Mr Color Primer Surfacer, as it sticks like the proverbial and the light grey will be a reasonable base for the white.

Most bits got one good coat but I put two on the shell, in case it needed any sanding (it does!)

Quite a bit of dust in the shell so I think the booth will get a spring clean and a new filter before I start painting.

                            Thanks guys.

I have a load of filter material somewhere Mark, I just need to find it! :smiling5:

I was up early this morning so all the little bits & bobs highlighted by the primer were sanded smooth, then the interior got it's satin black colouring:

Nothing particularly exciting but I've re-primed the exterior with a quick coat of Mr Finishing Surfacer, so it's all ready for paint now, which is hopefully turning up tomorrow.

I did another dry fit to make sure there were no glaring errors, and to double check my masking & painting strategy:

Beautiful work Andy and up to you usual high standards. Oh, and don't worry, I've disbanded the BKG (Blue Kit Group) as almost everyone is painting their cars a different color (me included). There is something about the MG Metro though, it just looks tough and ready to take on any rally terrain...
