This was likely in a Modified class before converting to Gas class w/new replacement chassis, supercharged big block, tube front axle & flip fiberglass front end. Prolly ran out of money before upgraded narrowed diff., tubbed rear and removal of rear seat. Why we stayed in Modified classes.

Allen, check out Vintage Gassers & how they sound on Utubes. Usually limited to pre 67 racers. Brings back awesome racing memories.

Very nice Paul, I'm looking forward to the next instalment.

Awesome Paul always liked this kit by MPC. They re-leased this kit a couple years ago Round 2 might can help with the decals they have some in there store on line.

I found them a couple years ago nice to see those oldies racing.

That looks sooooo sweet. What are the signs/logos on the rear quarter glass - various drag strips?

Thanks gentlemen. Yes Stefan, some who were chasing records/reputation would travel quite a bit for appearance fees. One such was the "Bad Banana", an amazing banana yellow "stock" 57 Chevy 9 passenger wagon that consistently ran record times. It was rumored, but never proven, he had moved the body back an inch on the chassis, had a reprofiled camshaft w/same lift & duration as stock, and had his stock fuel injection sawed in half, hogged out and polished to improve flow.

Your welcome Paul. Those are the “New” ones from the original kit if that’s the ones you got you will really like them not like the old ones that were used too these are easy to work with and look outstanding and you get more stuff on the sheet. Keep us posted

Boy, they went on beautifully. Maybe 15 seconds in the water & ready to slide. 2nd pic shows how well they snuggled down. 3rd pic shows how I should have taken a pic of the interior before assembling the body as it is completely painted. Next is completing the brightwork.
