    Coming together nicely Steve 👍

The separate spine is a great idea, should hopefully save a bit of work.

Top of the wings have been glued on. Generally the fit was very good. I have left a slight seam line visible on the model as this appears to be apparent on the actual aircraft. Model has been undercoated with primer and I have given the nose and the leading edges of the wings, horizontal stabiliser and canards a coat light grey. These will then get masked off when the primary black goes on. Also given the air intakes a blast of extra light grey, almost white, which will again get masked off when the black goes on.

So having primed the fuzz and then applied the grey to the leading edges of the wings, canards and vertical stabiliser it was time to mask these areas off and then focus on the two primary fuzz colours of black and red.
I decided to paint the fiery red spine and vertical stabiliser first. To give the red a good base i have applied a coat of matt white to the grey primer.

This highlighted that some more prep work was needed around the air brake where it meets the fuzz.

Then a further coat of white was added, I didn't bother to prime the repair, before going on with the fiery red.

Once dry I will add a second coat before masking off for the black primary colour.
Just a note of caution for anyone building one of these. The canard Union Jack decal DOES NOT contain the white of the Union Jack so you need to leave the base colour of the canards white so that it shows through. Unlike the wing Union Jack decal which have the white incorporated. You may be able to see the difference on the photo.

The paint is on. I have just put a rough coat of gloss black on, just enough to be able to apply the decals and then it will get a coat of satin for the final finish. No real issues with the paint just some very minor touch up required. Next job the decals.

First set of decals are on. No issues. Nice colour match of the decal red against the painted red. I have yet to apply the Micro set to really settle them down.

Once these are dry I will move onto the underneath fuzz which are a little more complicated and due to the size may need to cut to make fitting easier.

Thanks Geoff. It is a sriking colour scheme and seems quite topical at this patriotic moment we are having in the UK at the moment.
