Hopefully they'll look OK under a coat of black (the white tack is just to help hold them in place while the glue sets up).

Can I remind you folks to give me a really good kick up the butt if you see me looking at an old Airfix kit at any of the shows please?

Bit of foam in the cockpit and off to the spray booth.
Keep going Dave your doing great. You'll get that nice warm feeling inside after the battle/fight is over.

I do get some satisfaction from any little improvements I may make to a kit, but I still prefer to build 'shake and bake' kits and leave my few scratch talents to dios.

I decided I'd finish off the u/c before painting:

Not brilliant, but I think it looks better than it would if I hadn't bothered.

Off to bed methinks. It's back to the salt mines today .....

          A little more progress:

Canopy and pilot dry fit, but painted and Kleared ready for decals

My additions to the U/C don't look too bad, but the pic shows I've missed some clean-up on the front edges!

Nice bit of scratch work there Dave. It's made a lot of difference. Nice one.

Thanks Ron. Not perfect, but it's better than it was - which is all I look for when doing scratch bits. I just wish the pics hadn't shown up all the seam work I missed!

We've all been there Dave......The camera never lies. Easy fix though.

Some very nice scratch building to add detail to this ancient kit Dave. Great work so far.

Finally! At long, long last I've finished!

Purists will see the decals are not particularly good. I don't know if that's because they were poor quality or just old. There should be a small red centre in the fuselage roundels, but they were separate items for some unknown reason and both disintegrated when I tried to apply them. Both wing roundels and one of the fuselage roundels broke but I managed to fix them.

Not a brilliant job, but it's turned out a bit better than I expected - I'd forgotten how much extra work I put into it!

Can I please remind the Cosford Massive to give me a kick up the butt if they see me trying to buy an old Airfix kit!?
