That's looking really nice. 99p, I still can't believe it.

It's simplified John, but very well engineered - very few ejector marks, and they're in places that don't matter. Same with the sprue gates, which are in easy places to tidy up. There are a few sink marks here and there, but nothing a drop of Mr Surfacer can't fill. It needed just a smear of PPP around the fuel tank pylon and the wing fairing.
It's now had a coat of primer all over, and the underside has had a coat of RLM02. I'll let that cure overnight before masking for the upper surfaces.
The u/c bays need to be RLM66, but I'll brush those later. The cowl assembly has the prop attached, so I'll brush that as well - I don't like masking props!

Most of the earlier hasegawa stuff was pete , not very detailed in places like cockpits but usually fitted together very nicely and lovely sharp trailing edges . Great start and fast too its going to look very nice when its painted and decalled. This looks like one of grafs earlier machines , i think he had either partial yellow or full yellow cowlings on his later ones , still with the red triangles though.Comment

Yes Tony, I just hop the red triangle decals are well-behaved. The black flashes on the fuselage sides aren't supplied as decals so I've a tricky bit of masking to look forward to.
Mine appears to be this one: https://www.scalemates.com/kits/hase...w190a--1005869
So 1978?

Well I've lost a few photos, but work on this has continued. The prop and cowl ring will have to go on before the decals, as there are 12 red triangles that join around the cowl. Wish me luck lining those up! There's a black flash along the fuselage side that I thought would be easier to mask before fitting the prop though:
Here it is painted:
I'm glad I picked this scheme - the other scheme has a similar black flash, but with a thin red border all round! Surprised they didn't include that as a decal. Anyway, that's where I've got to so far. Cowl on tomorrow, then a gloss coat, then decals... in between gardening duties of course.

Well, after a coat of Microscale Liquid Decal Film, the geriatric decals behaved reasonably well. A couple of small cracks, but worse was that they tended to stick where they first touched, so the red/yellow triangles around the nose aren't lined up properly.
Not too bad though, I'll touch them up with a little paint tomorrow, then they can have a matt coat.

Luck, and careful photography Tony! Some of the red triangles don't end at the cowl ring, as they should. I should have trimmed the ones that overlap before I used Microsol, but now I'll have to paint over them. There are also a couple of gaps.
Thanks Neil. I'm often surprised that some pilots put such bright decorations on their carefully-camouflaged planes!
More Microsol today I think, then some touch-ups before the matt coat.
