Completed....1/35 Dragon German Super Tank 'Maus'

Here is the Maus finished. A great big, ugly, slow moving blockhouse!

If the lad doesn't like it, I'll use it as a door stop!

All brush painted with Vallejo Model Air 'German Grey'. Straight from the bottle, I got away with just one coat. As per my grandson's instructions, I've kept the weathering to a minimum and simply gave the tank a slurry coat of Model Air 'Dirt' and let it gather where it wanted to.
A bit of artistic licence - The white numbered decals supplied were nearly as deep as the turret and looked awful so I used 570 from my spare decals box instead.

That's me with armour for a while. I can't do repetition for too long, it makes what's left of my brain dull, so I'll probably be going back to sea......

    Cheers all.

    Hi Ron
Great job. You really couldn't do much more with this other than what you have done. Love the last picture.
Being dead nosey, so tell me to mind my own business, but what is the signifacance of 570? :rolling:

Thanks for the positive post, Jim.

The 570 is simply part of my landline phone number. Comrade Ivor Machtustartafireoff has adopted this as a short form when addressing his superior - Me!

        Nice one Ron :smiling2:.
I used to go into the model shop in Boughton Chester every Saturday to have a natter with Phil,Paul and Dave.
One time there was a kit of the Dragon Maus on the shelf behind the counter and I said " there is a mouse on the shelf"this was met with all three of them saying "no there isn't".Well this went on for a couple of minutes with me insisting that there was and the three of them insisting there wasn't until I said "look it's the new Dragon Maus",well I was called every name under the sun but we all had a good laugh:smiling6:.

Nice finish 570, hope the Lad will be pleased. Yes, 570 is a Superior number to say 453 however, Matron has both of you in the same ward ,on the same meds. Looks like you're stuck with each other! :tongue-out2:Lol !
          Cheers Mate, Rick H.

Sometimes less is definitely more. I really like the way the road dirt has settled just where it should!
