Churchill Mk. IV AVRE with Small Box Girder Assault Bridge Mk. II at Westkapelle

With the figure painted, this model is done! For those who missed it, the build thread is here

The model is too big for my photo booth, so I took advantage of the evening light and the shade from the house to photograph it on the garden table, with the help of a nice, dark blue blanket

Superb in every respect. Thorough research, impressive scratch building and a most enjoyable build thread.
        Thanks Jakko

I don’t even have room for a diorama featuring just a Jeep, never mind this

I was looking for a black cloth, but none to be had around the house — it was either this blue blanket, a red one, or a white sheet.

Just had a thought Jakko, and this applies to myself. When my wife decides the quilt covers need replacing she cuts them in half and uses them to protect the settees from the dogs paws. In her collection guess what - there is a neutral grey one, and like you I have run around looking for a suitable background sheet only to be frustrated. Now my problem is solved....:smiling5:

Really fine result Jakko. Truly excellent.

ps, I don’t mind the blue blanket myself, if you’d gone for black the shots probably would have been overexposed. This way we got to see the detail more clearly.

Thanks I’m quite pleased with it myself, I must say.

There is that, though I did use the HDR mode in my iPad’s camera app (like I normally do too), as I find the details are more visible that way.

                      Jakko,
That is a great build, the nose down stance has been captured perfectly.

I use HDR as well. Certainly does improve exposure, and hence sharpness overall.

And surprisingly easy to do — after some hard thinking, that is

Not to mention revealing details that get washed out by photographic lights, like two bits of white plastic card stuck together, or lines engraved in light-coloured plastic.
