…also, been reading that Patton is responsible for the late arrival of the Pershings, despite the clear fact that the poor old M4 only stood a chance in numbers and using adapted tactics. "A stickler for adhering to rigidly to regulations, Patton interpreted the Armoured Force Doctrine to a T, and cited it as his reason for not favouring the M26. He said that the tanks of an armoured division were not supposed to fight other tanks, but to bypass them if possible and attack enemy objectives to the rear". This is a quote from "Death Traps" by Belton Y Cooper? I'd say its a must for any Tank enthusiast!

Just like painting a picture I always say, but in 3D. Make up stuff as I go along, Don't want to load it up with too much stowage, just a few well thought out and endlessly fussed with tidbits just to add a bit of reality. Many layers I'm afraid, hope I don't bore too much ops: I'm currently gonna start track construction, painting and weathering to get some feet under her. stay tuned.................Jim
