Has any used this method since the 70's, if so does it hold up, ie shrinking, yellowing etc ?

Brad .
Might work it certainly looks wet when it's dried. Along with it sticks to most things including those rubber band tracks !
Failing that have a look at Vallejo Still Water or pooled gloss varnish .
The thing with the UHU is that is is thick in the first place so you can acheive some depth
Post what you find.

Steve thanks, not going doolally then, how did you stop it flowing down continually, or did you just lay it out and let it set?Comment

Just poured out the tube what I needed and let it set. The key is not to play around with it and just go with what comes out of the tube. Good luck:thumb2:Comment

Don't believe a word he says, he employs small silicon voles, highly trained to spin yarns and produce thin streams of silicon …Comment

Brad, I'll try to show some pix. Actually it's Uhu between your fingers and pulling them apart repeating until they become thin threads. Transfer these threads to the surface of your dio.
Cheers,
