Peter,
The SS 'Olympic was a sister ship to the 'Titanic' , and originally almost identical - she was used as a troopship in WWI & did have dazzle painting, so it's not quite a 'what if'! She did have a shedload more lifeboats after the 'Titanic' sinking, and as a troopship she had 6 X 6 inch guns added.....................

WOW,
I can't believe how many views this has had since I posted it at 11 o'clock. :surprised:
Just as an addition, I've retrieved the Airfix Mauretania from the stash - and there are actually 2 in one box! I was attracted to the hospital ship version, before seeing a picture of dazzle, so now I may be able to make both - maybe one full hull, the other waterline..............

Chris,
it's 400mm long, 40mm beam - it's dating from 1964, but not too bad - I think the dies must have been refurbished.
Back? - at the moment, if I drop anything on the floor, it has to stay there! !'m alight flat on the couch, or bed, but sitting for more than a few minutes really is a pain!
