From the size of those blades, the output from those turbines must be pretty big so maybe it won't be long before there's an energy profit.Comment

Brilliant purpose built vessel, there's big business in turbines these days . The Wash is full of them and the wind farm off the coast in the Thames is massive The amount of electricity made this way is phenomenal.
That actual ship weights in at 8604 Tons and is currently in the North sea .Comment

Not to mention the TONS of fossil fuel burned just to move 'em around and the Thousands of acres or more to put 'em up on and the Millions of birds they will kill in ther operating lifetime.....sounds like a BIG win for Green Energy (that won't be cheap) Cheero!! :tongue-out3:

Well actually.... The towers holding the blades are a removeable item... Once removed the ship can, like any deck carrier, be loaded with any item(s) that are to large for a conventional type cargo ship.
This particular ship is used to transport these wings, but can very quickly be put to use elsewhere.
Here is another, carrying part of another ship.
And before we all start gluing our hands to things and getting all environmental lets all stop and take a moment to think how all these PLASTIC products we buy are SHIPPED around the world.
Keep calm and build something.Comment

Cheers Ian, multi-purpose of course it becomes obvious now you pointed it out, nice one. A non floaty working in a floaty world !!Well actually.... Oil and gas don’t arrive at the point of use by magic Rick LOL…..Not to mention the TONS of fossil fuel burned just to move 'em around and the Thousands of acres or more to put 'em up on and the Millions of birds they will kill in ther operating lifetime.....sounds like a BIG win for Green Energy (that won't be cheap) Cheero!! :tongue-out3:

You learn summat new every day! Obvious now you've said it that the owners could use that type of carrier for other stuff!Well actually.... The towers holding the blades are a removeable item...
