Stainless Shim needed.

I am making a 24:1 model of a fairly modern yacht (1980) and find most available parts are for older stuff than this. I need small ammounts of stainless steel shim (about .2 to .3 mm) to make genoa travellers. Anyone know of a supplier.:thinking:

Don't know of any suppliers - what about a set of old feeler gauges?

I used the metal strapping that come with my lathe, for shims to adjust

the tool height.

hi, plenty of cars use shims of many thicknesses to set the cam/tappetts. classics are well provided for, Triumph Stag and Rover P6 spring to mind. If these give you the size you need you can buy the thicknesses required. For Triumph try Rimmer Brothers, are on internet. I may have one of those in the garage to check the size of it for you.
