Day 69

I have changed the set up of the rudder controls as I didn't think that the white metal parts were neither strong enough nor secure enough to the shafts. You can see from the original post pic.

I have now completed all of the wiring and switches ready for setting up. I have however got the lighting switch and radar switch working.

Here you can see the lighting illuminated, the mast lighting isn't very clear, sorry.

                        Day 70 - 76

                        Thanks guys!!

Well - I have been busy painting the rest of the crew so I didn't post much the last week. The one with the Binos isn't complete as I found that the decals supplied with it were 1/16th and not 1/12. I have some arriving in the post hopefully tomorrow or Tuesday.

Also I have attached the lanyard cable at the fore deck. I had the idea of using fishing swivels for the attachment instead of the white metal parts as they are a bit weak and will not take a bashing, also instead of the cable supplied I purchase some very strong stretchy line that the fishermen use also, not sure what for but it is excellent for this job. Now if someone tugs it or catches it it wont cause any damage to the fittings its connected to.

I have added the rest of the deck fittings bar one which is a replacement nozzle size for the hose, this should be dry by morning.

The next job is the rail stanchions. These have a very weak spike at the bottom that fixes to the deck. If these get knocked they will snap quite easily. To overcome this problem I will drill a 4mm hole in the deck and insert a sleeve that will fit over the stanchions. this will then be fixed underneath with some 4 min epoxy.

I have also fitted a twin AA battery carrier inside and connected the boom to it to reduce from 6v to 3v, this has slowed it down to a more realistic speed. I haven't checked the radar screen for brightness yet, I just thought about it.

                        Cheers

                        Andy

                              Day 77 - 78

Well the timing couldn't have been better. Its Christmas Eve and I have completed the Scout, what a Christmas present!! I would like to thank you all for joining me on this project and I hope to have another one in the New Year for you all.

Thanks you all for your support and kind words along the way and I hope you all have a fantastic day tomorrow.

Here are the final pictures, hope you enjoy them. I have inserted pegs in the feet of the crew so I can remove them as and when I need to.
